CHEF'S PANTRY
The design for the Chef's Pantry for George Brown College stemmed from the College's desire to add space for their ever-growing Chef School. The College requested that the space be versatile, so that it can function as a regular kitchenware store during the summer months when students are off, They also required an area for presentations and seminars. Sterling Solomon Designs crafted a plan which aims for full flexibility. Book shelves are positioned on tracks so that they can be easily moved to open up the floor for presentations. Sliding glass doors are located at the storefront which is intended to provide permeability and an open dialogue to pedestrians passing by on King Street East. A double-height conveyor knife display acts as a storage cabinet whilst also creating a main focal point within the space. Bright colour tones are visible throughout the space to promote a fun and distinct atmosphere.
